Workshop Brief:

  • Introduction of the basic skills in using Swift in Xcode to create simple iOS App
  • Introduction of different developer kit for easy app creation, include Health Kit, AR Kit, Core ML
  • Creation of different simple apps using different developer kits. 

Trainer:

Simon Ng is the Founder of AppCoda. He received the B.Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from The University of Hong Kong. He has extensive experience in programming and has been developing software applications in various industries for over 15 years. 

He now focuses on developing iOS apps and teaching people how to code through both online & in-person workshops. He has published several books on Swift & iOS programming including “Beginning iOS 10 Programming with Swift” and “Intermediate iOS 10 Programming with Swift”. His books were also translated into Chinese. His iOS programming book for beginners is now the best selling iOS programming book in Taiwan.

Regulation

The team members should be registered students studying in a higher education institution. Teams should fill in the registration form on the website. Further requirements include:

1. The works submitted by the participants should be originally created by themselves. The Organizing Committee has the right to request a statement of originality and, if any fraud is found committed by a participant, has the right to cancel the corresponding awards and prizes given to the participant. The consequences are to be borne by the participating members.

2. Each team should consist of up to 3 members. Replacement of members is basically allowed only once, which must be requested in writing to the organising committee prior to the deadline of application and can be actually implemented only if getting approved by the director.

3. Each team must have one or two coaches who must be a formal teacher of the university or college where the team comes from. A coach can act as the representative of multiple teams, responsible for guidance and communications of each team throughout the contest. The coach must ensure that all the team members meet the requirements of this Rules.
